The Tivat Museum and Gallery, under the patronage of the Municipality of Tivat, announces an open call for the newly established "Pean – Sindik Tivat Art Salon." The call is open to painters from the former Yugoslavia region from March 1 to August 1, 2024.
The Tivat Museum and Gallery Public Institution has long been working to enhance both the museum activities and the visual arts programming of the institution. At the proposal of one of its members—independent artist and painter Milo Albijanić—the institution's Council drafted and adopted regulations for a newly established art salon.
“We have adopted the names of two artists who are exceptionally important to Tivat and who have left a lasting mark on our city through their reputations and creative work. Anton Pean and Miljenko Sindik are two symbols of Tivat’s painting tradition. The Salon is dedicated to their memory and their body of work. Through this Salon, Tivat—and our institution in particular—will significantly enhance the city’s and the institution’s standing within the cultural landscape of Montenegro and the region,” noted Mile Albijanić, the Salon’s originator.
"The Tivat Museum and Gallery, of which I am the head, has embraced this project with pleasure and will nurture it with special attention, with the ambition to grow into one of the most promising art events in the region," said Danijela Đukić, director of the Tivat Museum and Gallery, on this occasion.
