A public call has been launched for photographers from Montenegro on the theme of "Transition." The exhibition will be held in Tivat at the "Tivat Museum and Gallery" public institution as part of the "Tivat Photo Days" photography festival.
The call for entries is open from March 15, 2024, to March 31, 2024. Authors must submit a minimum of five and a maximum of eight photographs. Priority will be given to conceptual works and those created within the last two years; however, photographs taken earlier may also be submitted. Documentary photography represents the most authentic expression of truth, and when an author incorporates their own inner poetics, the series of photographs acquires an artistic quality.
As part of "Tivat Photo Days," a roundtable discussion on "Contemporary Documentary Photography" and a lecture on "Copyright and Intellectual Property" will be held. The festival will also organize an educational workshop for children titled "Photography and Ecology." In addition to an exhibition themed "Transition," the festival will feature the opening of an exhibition by Montenegrin fine art photographer Vojo Radonjić, titled "The Enchanting Ease of Photography."
The exhibitions will open on April 5th and run for fifteen days, with a program spanning two weekends. The festival is organized by the NGO "Fluid Drum" from Tivat, in partnership with the public institution "Tivat Museum and Gallery."
The photos that are sent for the competition should be individually named according to the principle - first and last name of the author, serial number of the photo (janko_janković_1) - Name the work, that is, the series of photos and indicate the year of creation. Minimal processing of photos is allowed (light, crop, contrast, color, black and white) - Send photo format - jpg, 1500 pixels longer edge as well as the original size of photos ready for printing, in separate folders.
Applications with works should be sent to e-mail: tivatphotodays@gmail.com.
Copyright: All copyrights to the submitted photographs remain the property of their respective authors, while copies of the photographs are archived at the museum. The organizers undertake to credit the authors by their full names whenever the photographs are used in exhibition displays or for promotional purposes across digital, print, and television media in connection with this exhibition.
The organizer reserves the right to make changes to the contest rules and is obliged to notify the public of such changes in a timely manner. All authors entering the contest confirm their acceptance of all the aforementioned participation rules.
