The Tivat Museum and Gallery is joining the major European event "Night of Fortresses," which brings together over 60 sites across 10 countries with the aim of promoting cultural heritage and its significance for the community and sustainable tourism.
This year’s celebration, titled “Night of Fortresses Goes Green,” links cultural heritage with environmental responsibility, using the event as a platform to raise awareness about green, sustainable development. The goal is to educate visitors on sustainable tourism and practices that contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage, encouraging them to actively participate in safeguarding natural and cultural wealth.
As part of the WIND Fest 2025 event, the exhibition "Morska posla" (Sea Affairs) by the Adriatic Artists association will open at the Museum and Gallery on May 9th at 8:00 PM. The exhibition represents a response by talented amateur and professional photographers to the question of what constitutes "sea affairs"—the activities of the sea itself and of all of us who sail, swim, and dive in it. The exhibition celebrates the sea and its role in the natural balance while raising community awareness of its importance, aiming to foster a shift in attitudes toward the sea and its biodiversity.
In 2024, the institution adopted a Sustainable Development Action Plan, and participation in events of this kind contributes to its advancement. Admission to the Buća Summer House complex will be free for visitors on May 9.
The Tivat Museum and Gallery announces a rich program to celebrate International Museum Day over the coming week, with the main celebration taking place on May 18.
