The international conference "Intangible Cultural Heritage and Sustainable Tourism – Opportunities and Challenges (2003–2023)" opened yesterday in the Multimedia Hall of the Municipality of Tivat, attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro, the Museum Society of Montenegro, the Municipality of Tivat, the Tivat Museum and Gallery, members of the Wind Festival Organizing Committee, representatives of the Tivat Tourism Organization, and the media.
The conference was opened by the Mayor of Tivat, Željko Komnenović, while Danijela Đukić, Director of the Tivat Museum and Gallery, spoke on behalf of the organizers. In the first part of the conference, the attendees were addressed by Milica Martić, a representative of the Ministry of Culture and Media, followed by Mirjana Vukasović, a representative of the Museum Society of Montenegro.
Dejana Stjepčević spoke in front of the Tivat tourist organization, followed by the program editor of the Wind festival, Antonela Stjepčević.
Speaking via online link were Davide Gnola, President of AMMM; Saša Srećković of the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade; Mirela Hrovatin of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia; and the Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in South-East Europe (Sofia), represented by Iliyana Rousseva on behalf of Executive Director Irena Todorova.
Following the opening remarks, the first session on the Boka Navy took place, featuring presentations by Miroslav Vukičević (Faculty of Maritime Studies, Kotor), Milica Nikolić (University of Donja Gorica, Podgorica), and Gracija Škanata (Boka Navy Kotor – Tivat Branch).
Following the break, the second session—"Intangible Cultural Heritage: Valorization"—took place at the Tivat Museum and Gallery; the participants were Lucija Đurašković (Budva Museums and Galleries), Siniša Jelušić (CANU), and Dušan Medin (Faculty of Culture and Tourism, University of Donja Gorica, Podgorica).
